This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which CGLCC – Canada’s LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce collects, uses, maintains and discloses private information collected from users (each, a “User”) of the website (“Site”). This privacy policy applies to the Site and also to all products, services and activities of CGLCC – Canada’s LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce.

We are committed to maintaining the accuracy, confidentiality, and security of your personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”). As part of this commitment, our privacy policy governs our actions as they relate to the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information. We are responsible for maintaining and protecting the Personal Information under our control. We have designated an individual or individuals who is/are responsible for compliance with our privacy policy.

We will collect personal information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personal information, understanding that this may prevent them from engaging in certain Site related activities or other activities of CGLCC – Canada’s LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce.

CGLCC – Canada’s LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce collects and uses Users’ personal information for the following purposes:

Your personal or business information can be stored outside Canada because we use third-party service providers to store and process your personal or business information.

We take stringent measures to ensure that your personal and business information is protected and handled properly.

We do not store your personal or business information forever. Hence, we will destroy, erase or dispose your Personal Information in accordance with CGLCC’s retention period.

Personal Information will only be retained for the period of time required to fulfill the purpose for which we collected it or as may be required by law.


Personal Information will be maintained in as accurate, complete and up-to-date form as is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it is to be used.

We are accountable for all personal information in our possession or control. This includes any personal information that we have collected about members, candidates, customers, and past members. We have implemented physical, organizational, contractual and technological security measures to protect your Personal Information from loss or theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification. The only employees who are granted access to your Personal Information are those with a business ‘need-to-know’ or whose duties reasonably require such information.

In order to protect personal information in our possession or control, we have:

  • established and put into effect policies and procedures aimed at properly protecting personal information;
  • educated staff and volunteers regarding such policies and procedures and their roles and responsibilities in protecting personal information;

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information and other data stored on our Site.

Sensitive and private data exchange between the Site and its Users happens over secured communication channel and is encrypted and protected with digital signatures.

You can visit our CGLCC website(s) without telling us who you are or revealing any information about yourself, including your email address. However, our web server may collect the IP address and domain you used to access our website(s), the type and version of web browser and operating system you are using, the number, duration and frequency of visits to our website(s) and the website you came from and visited next.
