The CGLCC is pleased to announce that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Scandinavian 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce (SGLCC) on August 16, 2018, during the 2018 NGLCC international Business & Leadership Conference, in Philadelphia.
This agreement was signed in the context of the first-ever government-led 2SLGBTQI+Q2 Trade Mission to the United States. We were honored to have the presence of the Hon. Jim Carr, Minister of International Trade Diversification, M.P. Randy Boissonnault, Special Advisor to Prime Minister on 2SLGBTQI+Q2 Issues, the Canadian Consul General in New York, Phyllis Yaffe, and the Swedish Ambassador to the United States, Her Excellency Karin Olofsdotter, at the signing of the agreement.
The purpose of the agreement is to foster cooperation and partnership between the members of both organizations, in particular through greater 2SLGBTQI+ supplier inclusion as well as contracting and strategic teaming opportunities.
The SGLCC covers four countries, namely Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, and its goal is to provide a forum for communication and understanding between corporation and the 2SLGBTQI+-community, including to empower small business-owners and increase their possibilities to become international suppliers.
Similar agreements already exist between the CGLCC and the United States, Colombia, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and East Meets West, a non-profit business association based in Vienna, Austria covering 16 countries in Central and Eastern Europe.
