Navigating 2SLGBTQI+ Diversity & Inclusion in the Tourism Industry (Northern Ontario)

January 30, 2025 @ 12:00 pm 3:00 pm AST

This training is funded by the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Northern Ontario (FedNor), Destination Northern Ontario and regional tourism organizations – Explorers’ Edge, Tourism North Bay, Tourism Sudbury, Thunder Bay Tourism and Tourism Timmins.

The global 2SLGBTQI+ travel market is valued at more than US$200B annually. Canadian destinations, including Northern Ontario, are well-positioned to grow their share of this significant market. With its natural beauty, vibrant culture, and welcoming communities, Northern Ontario has immense potential to attract 2SLGBTQI+ visitors.

However, to fully realize this opportunity, tourism businesses and destinations must ensure that 2SLGBTQI+ guests and visitors feel not only welcome but also served in a way that exceeds their expectations and addresses their needs.

To help Northern Ontario businesses develop market-ready experiences, Navigating 2SLGBTQI+ Diversity and Inclusion in the Tourism Industry training provides practical tools and insights to understand, value, and better serve 2SLGBTQI+ visitors and staff. By building inclusive practices, businesses can create meaningful connections with this growing market while positioning Northern Ontario as a leader in 2SLGBTQI+ tourism.

Whether you’re just starting your learning journey or looking to enhance existing practices, everyone is welcome to participate.
