Finalists Announced: CGLCC Business Leadership Awards


Tegan & Sara to Receive Legacy Award Honouring Long-standing Contributions to the 2SLGBTQI+ Community

Toronto, ON: Today, Canada’s 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC) announces the finalists for its Business Leadership Awards taking place on November 5, 2020 during its virtual 5th Annual Black & White Gala.

The Business Leadership Awards were created to honour individuals and companies that have helped champion diversity, inclusion, and economic growth in the 2SLGBTQI+ community. With COVID-19 still at large, the theme for this year’s event is ‘The Show Must Go On’ – a nod to the resilience the 2SLGBTQI+ community continues to display in the face of an immensely challenging year. On Thursday November 5, 2020, Hundreds of individuals from across the country will gather virtually to celebrate the achievements of Canada’s 2SLGBTQI+ business community, hear stories from fearless 2SLGBTQI+ leaders, and enjoy an evening of fantastic entertainment. Recording artists Tegan & Sara will accept the Legacy Award honouring their long-standing contributions to the 2SLGBTQI+ community.
 
Of the finalists announced, Darrell Schuurman, CGLCC Co-Founder and CEO said, “We are incredibly excited to recognize the outstanding achievements of Canada’s 2SLGBTQI+ business community and to honour the inspirational business leaders that continue to be instrumental in driving 2SLGBTQI+ economic growth within Canada.” 
 
In addition to the awards ceremony, the 5th Annual Black & White Gala will include a lineup of noteworthy Canadian performers including singer-songwriter RALPH, national icon Rick Mercer, and Priyanka, the first ever winner of Canada’s Drag Race.
