2SLGBTQIA+ Mental Health Initiative

Mental health disproportionately impacts 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and entrepreneurs.

That’s why CGLCC has partnered with Our Landing Place to launch a landmark mental health initiative for 2SLGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs and business owners. Through this initiative, participants can access group workshops, offering valuable insights and practical strategies around mental health, as well as one-on-one mental health support, at no cost.

Are you a corporate partner interested in supporting this initiative? Get in touch with Paige Harlock to learn more!

Group Workshops

Balancing Queer Values and Navigating Burnout as a 2SLGBTQIA+ Entrepreneur and Leader – September 10th, 4:30 – 6:30pm EDT

Facilitated by Alice Curitz (she/her)

As a queer entrepreneur and leader herself, Alice deeply understands the nuanced challenges that we face when we strive to weave intersectional queer values throughout our businesses in a world that isn’t always made for us. Heart-led leadership and queer-centred business practices can make for an incredibly fulfilling and authentic leadership experience, but the ways in which the corporate world around us often challenges these values and holds us to what often feel like impossible standards can lead to burnout and a loss of passion for what we do. Join Alice for a 2-hour workshop that provides an affirming and welcoming space for 2SLGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs and leaders to come together and share their experiences and ideas, and learn new and accessible strategies to support mental well-being and effective leadership. We’ll talk about burnout recovery and prevention, as well as exploring ways to create effective structures and policies within your organization to sustain your own and your team’s well-being.

This workshop will be facilitated in English with closed captioning available.

Mental Wellness for QTBIPOC Entrepreneurs – September 19th, 3:00 – 5:00pm EDT

Facilitated by Aziz Mirza (he/him) and Jade Giff (she/they)

While 2SLGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs face barriers and challenges in business, members of BIPOC communities experience differently nuanced and overlapping stressors and challenges that can impact wellbeing and overall health. Join Aziz (he/him) and Jade (she/they) as they hold an exclusive space for QTBIPOC entrepreneurs to explore the impacts of living with multiple intersections of identities and experiences and the strengths of the unique and diverse lenses within the QTBIPOC community. Aziz and Jade will offer psychoeducation to increase your understanding of mental health and strategies to support improved mental wellbeing tailored for QTBIPOC entrepreneurs aged 19+ in Canada. There will be opportunities to meet with other QTBIPOC entrepreneurs, share your stories and experiences, and create new relationships and a community of care.

This workshop will be facilitated in English with closed captioning available.

Creating Inclusive and Affirming Workplaces – September 29th, 4:00 – 6:00pm EDT

Facilitated by Mackenzie Kuzyk (they/them) and Jess Marshall (she/they)

Join Jess and Mackenzie for a two-hour workshop focusing on the well-being of queer neurodivergent entrepreneurs. Jess harnesses lived experience and a strengths-based, affirmative approach to neurodivergent well-being, while Mackenzie brings a holistic and decolonizing lens to the unique challenges that queer neurodivergent entrepreneurs often face. Join them to find a way to work with your brain – not against it, in both your career and your life. To honour the many ways brains may learn, this workshop will consist of a short psychoeducational overview followed by more extensive interactive portions which support skill-sharing and community building.

This workshop will be facilitated in English with closed captioning available.
