Therapy for 2SLGBTQIA+ Entrepreneurs.

"The CGLCC 2SLGBTQIA+ Entrepreneur Mental Health Initiative was invaluable to me. As a queer, transgender racialized person, the layers of oppression on top of the difficult day-to-day as a person weigh heavily. I love the work I do being a self-employed person, but insurance isn't the most accessible thing for me. The CGLCC 2SLGBTQIA+ Entrepreneur Mental Health Initiative helped me prioritize my mental health and not have to think twice if I could budget and afford it. This empowered me to advocate and take care of myself, instead of having to put my mental health on the backburner I (and perhaps so many other folks) have done in the past. I hope there are more ways in the future for therapy to be accessible!"

“Life changing initiative for 2SLGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs by connecting community, neurodivergent specializations, and allowing folks to have a safe space to stop performing and sit with the hardships of business challenges in a heteronormative dominant space."

“This program fills an extremely important gap in mental health care. Solo entrepreneurs in particular are more likely than other entrepreneurs to belong to marginalized identities including 2SLGBTQIA, women, racialized, and disabled folks. I belong to all of these groups, and we are especially likely to not have financial resources or access to mental health services. Mental health care is inaccessible and incredibly important to 2SLGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs especially with other marginalized identities. We are more likely to be under the poverty line and experiencing significant and prolonged financial strain and mental stress.”

“I am incredibly grateful for this program that made it possible for me to receive mental health services from a highly skilled LGBTQ+ therapist that I truly needed and otherwise wouldn’t have been able to afford. By supporting my mental well-being, this program is empowering me build a company that hopefully in turn one day will be able to pay this kind of collective kindness forward.“
