CGLCC Statement concerning the signing of the CPTPP by the Government of Canada

The Canadian Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC) welcomes the signing of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) by the Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of International Trade, on March 8, 2018.

The CGLCC believes that international trading arrangements and market diversification can significantly enhance economic opportunities for Canadian enterprises, including 2SLGBTQI+Q2-owned businesses, particularly through their greater involvement in international supply chains.

The CGLCC also believes that this agreement will help reinforce the business relations and collaboration we already enjoy with similar 2SLGBTQI+Q2-related chambers of commerce in Australia, Mexico and Peru.

The CGLCC looks forward to pursuing new business opportunities in the ten other countries covered by the new CPTPP agreement.
