The CGLCC participated in the Start Up Canada Day on the Hill 2018 event in Ottawa on October 18, 2018. This is an annual event organized by Startup Canada, a grassroots network of entrepreneurs working together to build an environment for entrepreneurship in Canada.
The event provided CGLCC with a great opportunity to raise awareness and interest in the Chamber’s activities and perspective. The CGLCC’s CEO, Darrell Schuurman, participated in a number of policy hearings and panel discussions which addressed a broad range of issues related to scale-up strategies, the government’s support of Canadian entrepreneurs on the global stage, supplier diversity and the government procurement process.
In addition, the CGLCC’s exhibition booth attracted numerous visitors, many of whom expressed strong appreciation and great support for the organization.
It is estimated that over 2,000 people, including representatives from the corporate sector, entrepreneurs, government officials and business students, attended this year’s Start Up Canada Day on the Hill.
