Rainbow Registered
Rainbow Registered Accreditation Program for 2SLGBTQI+ Friendly Spaces
Not only is having 2SLGBTQI+ friendly policies in your company the right thing to do – it’s also good for business. That’s why Canada’s 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC) with Tourism HR Canada, have collaborated to launch the Rainbow Registered Accreditation Program for 2SLGBTQI+ friendly businesses and organizations in Canada – regardless of their industry or size.
What Does it Mean to be Rainbow Registered?
Rainbow Registered is a national accreditation for 2SLGBTQI+ friendly businesses and organizations. When you see a Rainbow Registered symbol, you know the business or organization meets a stringent set of standards to ensure that 2SLGBTQI+ customers feel more welcomed and accepted.
The accreditation program grants a time-limited recognition to businesses and organizations for demonstrating compliance with the quality standard. Accredited businesses are deemed market-ready for the 2SLGBTQI+ customer and given the right to be associated with the program’s prestigious Rainbow Registered designation.

Accreditation Process
Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the Step-by-Step Program Application Guide.
Submitting an application to become Rainbow Registered does not automatically grant accreditation. After your application submission, you will need to work with your assigned assessor to complete your evaluation. Once the assessment is finalized, you will be notified of the decision.
Corporations and large businesses with multiple locations are asked to email connor.mckiggan@cglcc.ca before applying to discuss their business structure and determine the most suitable approach.
Start the process below in the ‘Apply Here‘ section by selecting your business/organization size. All information supplied is kept confidential, and applicants will receive a notification confirming receipt of their application form and payment.
Note:
- All application fees are non-refundable.
- The fee is based on a single property/business assessment.
- Accreditation is valid for up to three (3) years with an annual fee automatically charged to the credit card on file.
Once your application has been received, an assessor will be assigned to your file and will connect with you to start the assessment. The assessor will guide you to collect supporting documentation and will answer any questions you may have during the process.
Your assessment must be completed within one (1) year of your application submission. If this timeframe is exceeded, your application will be deemed abandoned, and you will need to submit a new application and payment for a new assessment.
CGLCC will inform applicants of the decision and outline the next steps. Successful applicants who meet the requirements of the Rainbow Registered accreditation program will receive an email with their finalized assessment report for review and safekeeping.
Applicants who do not meet the accreditation standards will receive a report with feedback on any gaps, along with recommendations for improvement. They will have up to one year to address these gaps and undergo reassessment if they choose to.
